Privacy Policy

Interview-Peer is a peer-to-peer mock interview platform operated from India and available at interview-peer.com. We are the controller of the personal data described below.

Account details. Your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from that provider — we never see or store your Google or GitHub password. If you sign up with an email and password instead, your password is stored hashed by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.

Profile details you choose to add. Skills you want to practise, your experience level, and your avatar.

Your activity on the platform. Interview sessions you schedule or join, who you were matched with, the questions you practised, your written answers and practice submissions, and the feedback you exchange with peers.

Technical and usage data. Which pages you visit, your device type (desktop, mobile, tablet), browser, and operating system. When something breaks, we record diagnostic details about the error so we can fix it. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not build advertising profiles.

We do not record your interviews. Audio and video are sent directly between you and the other participant using WebRTC. We have no recording feature and no copy of your calls.

Some networks (corporate firewalls, certain mobile carriers) block a direct connection. When that happens, the encrypted stream is relayed through a third-party relay server so the call can still connect. The relay passes the stream through; it is not stored there.

What is stored is the fact a session happened — who took part, when, which skill, and any written feedback either of you submitted afterwards.

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these is used for one specific job:

• Supabase — hosts our database, files, and authentication. Most of your data lives here.
• Twilio — provides the relay servers that let a video call connect through a restrictive network.
• Resend — sends transactional email (session reminders, match notifications, password resets).
• Anthropic — powers our AI feedback and practice features. When you use one of those features, the relevant content (for example, your answer to a practice question) is sent to Anthropic to generate a response.
• Google and GitHub — only if you choose to sign in with them, and only to confirm your identity and email address.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Interview-Peer is a platform for practising with other people, so some information is visible to the peers you're matched with: your display name, your avatar, the skills you're practising, and any feedback you write for them. Your email address is not shown to other users.

We use browser storage to keep you signed in between visits and to remember preferences such as your light or dark theme. We do not set advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage signs you out.

We keep your account and its associated interview history for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile and the personal data attached to it. Feedback you gave another user may remain visible to them in an anonymised form, since it forms part of their own practice record.

We're being straightforward here: Interview-Peer is early-access and we do not yet have a fixed, published retention schedule or a self-service delete button. Deletion is handled by request, as described below, and we act on those requests promptly.

• You can view and edit your profile details at any time from Profile Settings.
• You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data.
• You can sign out on any device, which ends that session.

Access to your data is enforced at the database level, so one user's account cannot read another's records. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise — if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you.

Interview-Peer is intended for people preparing for professional job interviews and is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

If we change what we collect or who processes it, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to signed-up users by email.
